Phil was bitten by the showbiz bug at the age of 7 when he saw Les Dennis and Dustin Gee during their 1984 summer season in Great Yarmouth. He started to copy the impressions from their act and began to entertain family and friends.
He developed his own routine of comedy impressions and started to enter talent competitions up and down the country.
He was the winner of the 1988 Ladbrokes Holidays Stars of Tomorrow national finals.
Subsequently, he went on to be a DJ on board the MV Oriana for P&O Cruises, and then as Entertainment Manager for P&O Ferries.
It was during his time as Entertainment Host for Shearings Holidays that he started to perform his tribute show, which has now become known as The Tommy Cooper Experience. He was the understudy for Jerome Flynn during the UK tour of the West End smash hit, Just Like That! directed by Simon Callow.
Phil has performed his tribute show all over the UK as well as abroad, entertaining guests of Thomson Holidays at various resorts including; Corfu, Lanzarotte, Majorca, Fuerteventura and Mallorca. He has also performed the show for P&O Cruises whilst sailing the Caribbean. He has been a regular performer at the annual Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly, Wales (where Tommy was born) and was also present at the unveiling of Tommy's statue in 2008 when he met and performed for Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Phil has also toured extensively with productions for The Panto Company, Chaplins Pantomimes and Qdos Entertainment, playing a range of characters from Ugly Sister in Cinderella to Long John Silver in Treasure Island.
His theatre credits include: The Great British Variety Show (Royal Hippodrome Theatre, Eastbourne) The Dame Lucy Bun & Reg Laughter Show (Parkway Theatre, Cleethorpes) and For One Night Only (Blackfriars Theatre, Boston). Pantomime appearances include: Emperor in Aladdin (Embassy Theatre, Skegness) Wishee Washee in Aladdin (Parkway Theatre, Cleethorpes) and Alderman Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington (Haverhill Arts Centre)
Phil also played the lead character of Professor Potty in the UK's first 'motion capture' production of Looney Tunes Live at Butlins Skegness, where he became a cartoon character and shared the stage with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Tweety.
Phil currently lives in Kent with his partner and performs children's magic parties under the guise of Mr Marvel (check out <a href="http://www.mrmarvel.com">www.mrmarvel.com</a>) He has also produced and presented his own radio shows for stations including: Romney Marsh FM, Identity Radio, Big L and more recently Academy FM Folkestone.
